MP BACKS NOAHS ARK NURSERY

12.00.00am GMT Tue 18th Feb 2003

Jenny Tonge, MP for Richmond Park visited Noah's Ark nursery in Princes Road, Richmond on Monday February 17th.

The nursery, which is in temporary accommodation there following the closure of its former site on Christ's School, West, is under threat of closure unless new premises are found.

Dr Tonge has written to the Council's Director of Education, Arts and Leisure, Anji Phillips, urging her to do all she can to help keep the nursery open.

Dr Tonge said: "I know this is a private nursery, and not the direct responsibility of the Council, but we are still desperately short of nursery places and we can ill afford to lose this one."
