End of Concord1.27.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 14th Apr 2003 The decision by BA and Air France to stop commercial flights of Concord in the autumn will inspire "mixed emotions among local residents" according to MP Vincent Cable. "Part of Twickenham and Teddington have Concord flying directly overhead at 11.00am every morning. The noise is very loud indeed and although most people have got used to it, some are upset by it. " "There will probably be an increase in Concord flights over the Summer as people try to get on one of the last flights". "Reactions to its demise will be very mixed. It is undoubtedly a " "beautiful aircraft but environmentally unsatisfactory - very heavy on fuel as well as noise. It has never made economic sense and even its most committed supporters in BA have pulled the plug on it. After the autumn there will no longer be an 11am time check from Concord every day".
