Councillor Serge Lourie, Leader of the Liberal Democrat opposition on Richmond upon Thames Council said; "I am delighted that Commander Keble of HMS Richmond has been awarded an OBE. It is well deserved. The borough and the ship benefit from the mutual relationship."

"I hope the Council will now turn its mind closer to home and award the freedom of the borough to the Royal School of Military Music, which has been at Kneller Hall since its foundation by Field Marshall HRH the Duke of Cambridge in 1857"
