Mayoral Madness

Dee Doocey, Liberal Democrat GLA candidate for SW London hit out at "Mayoral Madness" after seeing an advertisement in the Media Guardian for a 'Schools Banner and Route Decoration Project Organiser'. to co-ordinate and manage a schools' arts and banner making project to involve children and young people in the decoration of the Olympic Torch Relay route.'

She said: "this is the sort of thing which gets Local Government a bad name. Whilst it is only natural that schools and communities will wish to get involved in cheering on our Olympic Torchbearers, to appoint a bureaucrat to manage the cheering from an ivory tower somewhere in central London demonstrates why it is that Ken's reign needs to be ended. Money is being spent like water by his administration and Londoners just can't afford it."
