Liberal Democrat London Mayoral candidate, Simon Hughes, has today taken his campaign one step further into the 21st Century with the introduction of a "Text Simon" mobile number.

Mr Hughes, who has embraced 'blogging' and 'virals' for his campaign to be London Mayor, has now adopted the mobile number 07795 328 405 for voters to text him their questions, concerns or ideas for London.

Simon said: "Engaging people into politics and into voting in the Mayoral race is one of the hardest tests that politicians face in the run up to 10th June."

"I hope that by using the latest concepts to get people to tell me what they feel the problems and solutions are with London, I will able to break the barriers between hi-tech savvy voters and politicians."

"The London Mayoral election is an ideal way to discover new ways of talking and listening to London. With our city being the most diverse and modern city in Britain, people are more clued up than ever before."
