Have your say on play

8.32.19pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 11th May 2007

Richmond Council is calling on local children and young people to give their views on play facilities in the borough.

A consultation is being launched this week, via the Council website, to help the Council plan its play strategy. The authority is developing the strategy in cooperation with various play providers. Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Martin Elengorn, said:

"The Council has invested a great deal of money in improving playgrounds in the borough. However, our strategy is not just about playgrounds or young children but also about providing places which are safe and welcoming for older children too. Our aim is for all the borough's children and young people to have easy access to a range of high-quality play opportunities. We want to hear the views of children, and parents and carers, to help us shape our future plans."
