Have your say on Crane Park revamp

11.09.00am GMT Tue 8th Jan 2008

• RICHMOND Council is urging Crane Park users to have their say in an online survey as part of a project to revitalise the River Crane and its environment.

The Council is among a number of partners backing the Crane Valley Project, which aims to raise funds for a three-year programme of conservation and community activity on three target areas along the river, including Crane Park. The river runs through five London boroughs before reaching the Thames and the survey hopes to find out how it can be made more accessible for people and a better environment for wildlife.

Cllr Martin Elengorn, Cabinet Member for Environment on Richmond Council, said: "Crane Park is a key site, and encouraging wildlife, such as kingfishers and the rare water vole, is vitally important. The project aims to help these species thrive while also opening up the river to local people. The survey is an important opportunity for residents to air their views on the current state of Crane Park and suggest what improvements they would like to see."
